มาตรา 143 ผู้ใดเรียก รับหรือยอมจะรับทรัพย์สิน หรือประโยชน์อื่นใดสำหรับตนเองหรือผู้อื่น เป็นการตอบแทนในการที่จะจูงใจหรือได้จูงใจเจ้าพนักงาน สมาชิกสภานิติบัญญัติแห่งรัฐ สมาชิกสภาจังหวัดหรือสมาชิกสภาเทศบาลโดยวิธีอันทุจริตหรือผิดกฎหมายหรือโดยอิทธิพลของตนให้กระทำการ หรือไม่กระทำการในหน้าที่อันเป็นคุณหรือเป็นโทษแก่บุคคลใด ต้องระวางโทษจำคุกไม่เกินห้าปี หรือปรับไม่เกินหนึ่งแสนบาท หรือทั้งจำทั้งปรับ
Section 143 Whoever demands, accepts, or agrees to accept property or any other benefit, for himself or another, in return for inducing or having induced — by dishonest or unlawful means, or by his own influence — an official, a member of a State legislative assembly, a provincial council, or a municipal council to perform or omit a function favourable or detrimental to any person, shall be liable to imprisonment not exceeding five years, or a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand baht, or both.
