มาตรา 249 ผู้ใดทำบัตรหรือโลหะธาตุอย่างใด ๆ ให้มีลักษณะและขนาดคล้ายคลึงกับเงินตรา ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเหรียญกระษาปณ์ ธนบัตรหรือสิ่งใด ๆ ซึ่งรัฐบาลออกใช้หรือให้อำนาจให้ออกใช้ หรือพันธบัตรรัฐบาล หรือใบสำคัญสำหรับรับดอกเบี้ยพันธบัตรนั้น ๆ หรือจำหน่ายบัตรหรือโลหะธาตุเช่นว่านั้น ต้องระวางโทษจำคุกไม่เกินหนึ่งปี หรือปรับไม่เกินสองหมื่นบาท หรือทั้งจำทั้งปรับ
ถ้าการจำหน่ายบัตรหรือโลหะธาตุดังกล่าวในวรรคแรก เป็นการจำหน่ายโดยการนำออกใช้ดังเช่นสิ่งใด ๆ ที่กล่าวในวรรคแรก ผู้กระทำต้องระวางโทษจำคุกไม่เกินสามปี หรือปรับไม่เกินหกหมื่นบาท หรือทั้งจำทั้งปรับ
Section 249 Whoever makes a token or metal piece resembling, in character and size, currency — whether a coin, banknote, or anything the government issues or authorizes — or a government bond or interest coupon, or disposes of such a token or metal piece, shall be liable to imprisonment not exceeding one year, or a fine not exceeding twenty thousand baht, or both.
If the disposal of such token or metal piece is by putting it into circulation as if it were any of the things mentioned in paragraph one, the doer shall be liable to imprisonment not exceeding three years, or a fine not exceeding sixty thousand baht, or both.
